5 Sabotaging Beliefs to Slay

Sabotaging beliefs are so relevant in achieving your goals and living the lifestyle you desire and deserve.

What do they look like? There are many forms—procrastinating on a big project, fighting with your lover, getting sick after reaching a goal, self-medicating with one drug or another, eating comfort foods instead of exercising, and even having an affair.

The bottom line is, you undermine your efforts not once, not twice, but repeatedly.

The first thing to know is that your sabotaging beliefs are often tucked away within your subconscious mind. It’s the videographer, so to speak—recording e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g—and then it plays it back to you in the form of (unconscious) beliefs or specific behaviors, usually from childhood.

In most instances when you are stuck, it can often be traced back to your beliefs. How? Well, it seems that when we strive above what our subconscious believes we are worthy of, something will happen to bring us back to our “set point.”

Think of the lottery winners who can’t hold on to their success. Their subconscious said, No way, because they blew past their set point.

Do any of these five sabotaging beliefs sound familiar to you?

  • I’m not smart/good enough.
  • It’s too late for me.
  • I can’t have it all—I have to choose one or the other to have my dream.
  • I only need six hours of sleep.
  • I’m not lovable—no one will ever love me.

These are all lies, but unchecked, they wreak havoc in our lives, hearts, and dreams. “Slay” is the new buzzword, but think of it as a powerful energy of striking down or overcoming challenges. The action required is to slay your sabotaging beliefs.

How?

Start by noticing your pattern. Notice when you get stuck or even hear yourself say some of the above statements. Or think back to a time you self-sabotaged and notice “how” you did it.

Awareness is the key to begin to reprogram your beliefs.

Next, communicate within. There is an aspect of you that is simply in fear, probably a younger you. The you that you are now is stronger and more open to live the life you desire, work for, and deserve—while the younger you is frightened. When the you that you are now is able to communicate with the younger version of you, you can begin to reprogram your beliefs.

Trust me, I know. I’ve had to do it throughout my life. I also know that this is just a glimpse of how this process can be a solution for the results you want—greater happiness, success, wealth, health, and fulfillment.

Obviously there is more to this, and I invite you to reach out to me if you’re ready to reprogram these beliefs. You can join me at one of my three-day Replenish Luxury retreats, where we will slay self-sabotaging beliefs for your freedom and healing.
